Latham Patrick Copeland
The cutest little boy in the world was born on April 8, 2012! Adam and I are absolutely thrilled. Latham is a family name from Adam's side and my dad's name is Patrick, so that's how we came up with his name. We are calling him Latham...that should make him unique in school!
It's been exhausting thus far, but I can't blame it solely on Latham. Although he came only 4 days before his due date, he is big and healthy. He weighed 8 lbs, 2.9 oz and was 19.5 inches long. He eats well, and sleeps fairly well, and likes to use his lungs to voice his displeasure over things. :) But it's pretty great. Sadly, though, I could have used a bit more time to grade. I still have a bunch of papers and some more classes to run. Some people in my department have helped, but I still have a pile of things to do. I so wish I had time to just devote to Latham, but it'll be okay. I also need to write blog posts about the end of pregnancy, my delivery (no gory details, I promise), our house, the nursery, and a ton of other things. However, I'll just try to be patient, finish the end of the semester, and use my free time to enjoy my son.
In the meantime, here are some pictures of the little Copeland angel.
OH, I love this post so much!! I know you are wonderful parents :)
ReplyDeleteBeing a mom means you will become really great at triage. There will always be more to do than hours in the day so just get the important and bare essentials done and then let it go and enjoy the time you have with your family. The work will always be there, waiting for you to return. And remember "perfection is the enemy of done" and if you are constantly shooting for perfect, then you are never done, and then never get to put work aside and focus on that beautiful baby boy!
ReplyDeleteHe is all kinds of cute. Congratulations! And good luck finishing out the semester. That's a tough one for *me*, and I don't have a newborn!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Cathy and Adam! Latham is adorable. There is really nothing better than being a parent! There may be tough days, but when you think back in a year you'll only remember all the good times. :) Oh, and I agree 100% with what Abby said. SO true!
ReplyDeleteHe is beautiful! You look great! Congratulations!
