My Husband

I still feel weird writing or saying "my husband" sometimes. Like it's something that I never was sure I would have and I don't want to jinx anything. And, seriously, my husband is the best guy ever! So you can understand why I don't want to jinx that!

Adam turned 32 this past week. And, although we didn't have an elaborate celebration, I was glad to be able to share his day with him. Even though it was a Monday, he didn't have to work!! So we did something special....and secret, for now!

But, in honor of my delightful husband, I thought I'd show off how gorgeous he is and comment on why he's just the best!! Enjoy!

Wine + that grin...how can I resist!

He's so methodical, yet inventive, when he cooks!

He treats me like a princess...and not just on our wedding day.

He's thoughtful.

He makes grey skies blue!

He makes me laugh.

He always is willing to take cutesy couple pictures.

He always dresses to impress. (And agrees to wear matching travel clothes!)

He knows (and loves) sports.

He's a GREAT daddy to Oliver.

He has an international flair.

He's always goofy.

He can relax with the best of them.

He loves his family...even when there are angry outlaws lurking behind.  :)

He eats his ice cream so quickly that it doesn't even drip down the cone!

He rocks sunglasses.

He's a great uncle!

I'm so lucky to have Adam as my husband, and there are SO MANY more things I can mention about how wonderful he is. However, I'm absolutely thrilled that soon I get to see him be the best dad to our little boy! Thanks for being my sweet one, Adam. Happy birthday!!

Valentine's Day

Adam and I have been keeping BUSY! We have to keep some of our reasons for being a busy a secret for now, but, not to worry, you'll find out soon enough. In the meantime, here's how we celebrated Valentine's Day.  :)

My honey got me beautiful red roses!

We don't really go out to restaurants for Valentine's Day. (Actually, I don't think I've ever gone to a restaurant on V-Day...in my whole life!! Oh well!) It just seems too busy, crowded, and we like snuggling together. Of course, usually, we'll have a glass of wine or two, but the pregnancy delayed that tradition. Anyhow, we planned what we wanted to eat a few days in advance and then had fun whipping it up together.

Fresh-baked bread with herb-infused olive oil

Mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, and baked salmon with roasted tomatoes. Serious YUM!

My sweetheart  :)

We couldn't decide what we wanted for dessert, so I suggested baking and decorating cupcakes. I LOVE decorating cupcakes, but I'm usually so controlling that I don't allow anyone else to help. I loosened up, and I'm so pleased that I did. Adam was so much fun to work with, and our cupcakes tasted fantastic!

We chose to use three colors: white, pinky-red, and purple. And then we just went to town. Some were more precise, some flowery, some just delicious swirls of icing. Overall, it was a blast! Plus, we had dessert for weeks (or, maybe, just one week). I can't wait to do it again!

Our tray of decorated cupcakes!

I hope everyone had a Happy Valentine's Day!
