So this is kind of Riverwalk day! We went on the Riverwalk one evening and two days, but I'll kind of just scramble it all together. :) I was not expecting to be that impressed by the Riverwalk, despite having heard from Adam how much he loved it while he was there. I thought....well, it's a river in the middle of a big city and it's been around for hundreds of years, I bet it's a dump. But it's NOT! It's well maintained, gorgeously designed, and has all these charming bridges, restaurants, shops all throughout. The river naturally bent through there, but the soldiers at the Alamo had the Native Americans elongate it, and then, through hundreds of years, it's become very nicely designed. Lots of stonework surrounding it, and the buildings next to the Riverwalk are just spectacular. Very nicely done, San Antonio.
We first just strolled the Riverwalk, relaxing and experiencing the magic. Of course, Adam had been here MANY times before....but never with someone as perfect for him as I am! heehee!!
Five bells representing the five missions of San Antonio (of which the Alamo is one).
In front of an outdoor theatre on the Riverwalk
Look at those bridges. There were bridges EVERYWHERE!
And I love bridges! And ivy! The Riverwalk rocks.
A tree growing out of a building....haven't seen that before.
Marriage Island (as it's actually named!) is just on one of the bends of the river.

Anniversary present to ourselves? A little marriage island cute for the Copelands. :)
Some fantastic stonework at the Riverwalk Conference Center

Then we had dinner on the Riverwalk (all the restaurants there are expensive...so it was our anniversary splurge) and took nighttime photos.

Our dessert was SO GOOD! So good that we started eating before deciding that we should have taken a picture. So, here you go....(it was a rich pastry shell filled with creme and fruit! delicious!):
The next day, we went on a Riverboat cruise. It was chock-full of information and fun; I highly recommend it!
Our fabulous River Boatguide behind us. He was GREAT!

Excited about the ride!! (He would have made a splendid Riverboat captain!)
The Riverwalk is so pretty; it's hard to capture it by photos alone. But it was very relaxing, beautiful, and fun! Go see it!!! Also, my apologies about my bridge addiction. I can't stop loving them!! Someone give me a bridge intervention. ;)
